Target audience - Split

Image
Split is a film about a man with 23 personalities and on the verge of a 24th personality. The man has kidnapped 3 girls and they must escape before the monstrous 24th personality appears. Split is rated 15 but from the research I have gathered the target audience is adults. the twists and the unpredictable story-line, to the scares. seemed to be to much for younger audiences to enjoy. But allowed adults to fully engage with the film and the scares and thrills kept them on the  edge of their seat.

13 Reasons Why follows teenager Clay Jensen. Clay's classmate and crush, Hannah, decides to end her life. But before she does she list 13 reasons why she did it and records them on to 13 tapes. Clay receives these tapes and it's up to him to uncover the truth. Firstly 13 Reasons Why target audience is ages 16+. This manly because the TV series deals with mature content. One these being of course suicide. in fact the UK has the lowest ages rating for 13 Reasons Why which is 15+; for the majority off episodes. In addition I believe that 13 Reasons Why especially resonates with late teens. I believe for many reasons. One them being that the TV series is filmed in settings similar to what the majority of this age group are going to  (i.e. school). also the activity that the series part takes in such as: party, drinking, social media; are things that this age group identify with. I also believe that 13 Reasons Why is classified in the mystery, physiological, teen drama. and
